"Thank you so much for all your hard work," Madeline smiled angelically towards the older girl that stepped into the student council room behind her. "I wouldn't know what to do without your unwavering support."
The girl set her bookbag on the floor next to the president's desk, then sat down behind it. "Even though it's after school, you volunteered to help me finish the budget. I cannot find words to express my gratitude."

Classes had just ended, and Madeline Tompson, the current student president of the middle school branch, had elected to spend some time in her council room, in order to finish the last of next semester's club budget.

From inside her bag Madeline heard Teddy Bear growl, "Why do you put up with this wimp? She needs a good pounding."

"Nonsense," the president told her subordinate with a smile. "It is the president's duty to lead. How can one lead without participation?" She sat down at the table and gestured for the other girl to sit down with her.
The voice coming from her bookbag was ignored.

Teddy gave a grumble, but an affirmative one, indicating his willingness to wait for now.

Jessica gave another sigh, "Sure thing, I still say he should be here. He doesn't really do much anyways," despite her protests though she kept working on the papers.
